FAQs

What is queer/gender affirming therapy? Queer, trans, GNC and non binary people face high levels of discrimination and violence, particularly within health care settings. Our approach is to counter act this and provide a safe affirming space for you. Queer and gender affirming therapy focuses on addressing the social, emotional and psychological needs of our LGBTQIA+ community, with out judgment or preconceptions.

What is trauma-informed therapy? Trauma-Informed therapy understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma and promotes environments of healing and recovery rather than practices and services that may inadvertently re-traumatise. Trauma-Informed Care follows five guiding principles that serve as a framework for how service providers and systems of care can work to reduce the likelihood of re-traumatisation. These principles are generalisable across a variety of service settings. The five guiding principles are: safety, choice, collaboration, trustworthiness and empowerment.
